Pupil Premium Funding

Pupil Premium is a grant given by the government to schools in England to decrease the attainment gap for the most disadvantaged children. For each primary school pupil who is eligible for free school meals, their school receives £1,320.  The school is then required to provide a strategy for how this will money will be spent to support eligible pupils and review this strategy and it's impact annually.

At Mears Ashby CE Primary the proportion of pupils entitled to this funding is very low and it would be impossible for the school to publish the strategy and review in the public domain for 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 without identifying individual pupils and their families.  The strategy and review exist as a confidential document held by the Head Teacher.

Sports Premium Funding

We receive Sports Premium funding from the government each year in order to promote and improve the involvement and enjoyment of our pupils in sports, PE and physical activity. Below is information regarding how we spend that funding:

Catch Up Funding

In response to the forced closure of schools and disruption to learning, the Government have allocated additional funding to provide for training, resources and tutoring to enable pupils to catch up lost learning. This is called the Catch Up funding. Please see our strategy document below which describes the funding allocated to our school and how we plan to spend it.
